Synopsis:
Happily ever after isn’t all that magical…
With Hell’s chasm closed and magic sealed away, Orpheus and Fenrir find themselves at the center of the Empire’s reconstruction. But when mysterious assailants kidnap Orpheus to a city once powered by the chasm he closed—the redeemed villain discovers all magic may not be lost…only his.
Presented with a choice: Fix the city or die, Orpheus comes face-to-face with a young mage named Gwen whose magic is too weak to cast a spell, let alone help the broken city. Enamored by the former dark sorcerer, Gwen offers to help keep Orpheus’ missing powers a secret in exchange for magical tutelage, buying Orpheus the time he needs for Fenrir to come to his rescue.
But when weeks pass without Fenrir’s arrival while Gwen only grows stronger, Orpheus looks to his unlikely student and wonders…
Is there a way to steal Gwen’s magic and save himself?
The City that Shattered the World is the epic second book in the LGBTQ+ romantic fantasy series, The Cursed Mage. Fans of Critical Role and Arcane will be swept away by Fiona Fenn’s emotional, character-driven story, where morally gray villains fight to earn their redemption.
Content Warning: violence, blood, death, death of a child mention, medical content
